Abigail Tarango serves as an administrator with the Ysleta Independent School District, as the Director of Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives. Throughout her career, Abigail has been an educator at the preschool, high school, and higher education levels, including a faculty role with TRio Upward Bound at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), and with Texas A&M AgriLife as an Extension Educator in El Paso County. In this role, Abigail worked with the employees and clients of both El Paso County and City of El Paso, specifically the departments of Domestic Relations Office, Human Resources, Risk Management, Worksite Wellness programs, and many others. In her current role as Director of Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives with the Ysleta ISD, she oversees project management and support for the implementation of key district initiatives. Throughout her leadership roles within the community, she has served as a Board Member with Goodwill of El Paso, Inc., a member of Junior League of El Paso, works closely with Wise Latina International, and maintains an active role in building bridges between organizations that serve our area. Additionally, she is a mother of three children, working on her doctoral degree from New Mexico State University, a published author, researcher, and educational advocate for PreK12-16 platforms. Abigail's experiences, career and personal, all surround three themes: Empowerment and Personal Growth grounded in Education.
