Anaysa Viviana Arce
Clinical Allergy Specialist
Anaysa Viviana Arce was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and has followed her aspirations to be a leader within her community. She graduated Salutatorian from Parkland High School’s graduating class of 2013 and due to academic standing was awarded a full scholarship to The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). Anaysa graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelors of Science in Health Promotion with a concentration in Community Health.
Through her time and experience at UTEP, she was able to study abroad for two summers. In 2015 she was accepted to the Paris-Sorbonne University where she studied international health. In 2017 she went to Panama City, Panamá as Minority Health International Research Training Scholar where she was selected to conduct research at the Instituto de Investigaciones Cientificas y Servicios de Alta Tecnologia (INDICASAT) and examined nutrition related risk predictors of HIV in communities endemic for HIV and Tuberculosis in Colon, Panama. Through this experience, she was selected to present research findings at The World Congress on Targeting Metabesity in London, UK.
From her experiences abroad and continuing collaboration with UTEP mentors, Anaysa became a Research Assistant with the program Mujer Saludable, Familia Feliz in El Paso. Here she was the student in charge of providing nutrition sessions to local communities to help members develop a better mindset for healthy eating and built local food awareness by facilitating food demonstration classes. She also launched a food pantry for partnership organization participants (Aliviane and The Center Against Sexual and Family Violence) and local community organizations to provide access to nutritious foods. Secondly, she was President for the National Health Education Honorary Eta Sigma Gamma UTEP Chapter where she organized and participated in city and university events that were related to health awareness such as mental health, obesity and diabetes, tobacco prevention and cessation, and cancer.
Anaysa is now a Clinical Allergy Specialist working within clinics in El Paso and Las Cruces. Allergy and immunology is a rapidly evolving field that offers strong intellectual stimulation; it offers direct translation of bench (research) to bedside (practice); and it affords a great opportunity to take care of children and adults in the clinical practice. She has a focus on our community by promoting healthy lifestyles and enhancing the quality of life for El Pasoans. Lastly, she plans on continuing her education at UTEP by pursing a Masters in Public Health, Fall 2018.
