My name is Rhonda L. Byrd. I was born in Evergreen, Alabama. I am an Active Duty Army Sergeant Major (E-9) with 21 years of active service.
My Military Occupational Specialty is 36B which is a Senior Financial Management Specialist. I am currently assigned as an Instructor at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy on Fort Bliss.
My first duty station was Schweinfurt, Germany. I’ve been stationed at Fort Stewart (Georgia), DFAS-San Antonio, Kuwait, Fort Hood (Texas), Columbia Recruiting Battalion (as a Detailed Recruiter in Clemson Recruiting Office), Fort Drum (New York), Fort Jackson (South Carolina), and back to Europe to be stationed in Belgium.
While on Recruiting Duty, I served as a mentor and tutor at two of the high schools in our area. I also assisted with after school programs. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Franklin University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I’m currently enrolled at Pennsylvania State University pursing my Master’s degree in Lifelong Learning and Adult Education. I love to learn and am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge, both personal and professional.
I decided to join Kappa Epsilon Psi (KEY) Military Sorority, Inc., because of the wonderful things they do to give back to veterans and the community. I am currently serving as the Vice President, El Paso Majestix Cluster.
I love mentoring and working to help others in pursuit of their goals.
